But we didn't want you to just take our word for it, so we asked some of our StreetLeaders how they see God writing better stories for them:
"Through my role as a StreetLeader, I've discovered how my Latin voice is a gift: I am a minority representative to fellow minority children, and everyday i show up at work, I show them that someone of their background is able to lead them well in an environment where their voices are heard."

"I'm grateful to be a part of UPN because I have learned to be a voice and a leader. I have discovered how to connect with kids who are refugees like me. 'They have faced similar experiences and may encounter the same challenges I did when moving and adjusting to life in America. I love helping them feel at home and making them feel welcomed."
-Esther, StreetLeader
from Kenya
UPN gave me the chance to connect with an amazing community that accepted me for who I am and what I had to offer. As the eldest of six, I’ve always been a leader, but working at UPN helped me grow my leadership skills with children from all kinds of backgrounds. It also taught me how to connect with people of all ages. At UPN, I developed an undertstanding of what it means to have a community that loves and cares for you and deepened my understanding of the Bible and its stories of Jesus.
Looking back, I realize how much those moments shaped me, even when I didn’t fully understand them at the time. God truly uses people to show His love!

"I love being a StreetLeader because of the community. In this community you don't feel left out and you can speak a lot about who you are and who you want to be. Because they don't choose you based on who you are now, but who you can be. I think that's amazing because as a teenager, identity is something that you're always looking for, and they bring light to that."
-Anarela, StreetLeader
from Venezuela
"Being a StreetLeader has really helped me with my confidence and leadership skills as I've learned how to tell kids about God. When I came to America, I wasn't really in a good mood and my life wasn't in the very best moment, but here I met a lot of people that helped make my life so much better and helped me to learn more about God."
-Ivanka, StreetLeader
from Ukraine
"UPN has given me a sense of home I never knew I was missing. When I first became part of this community, I felt like I was stumbling through life, unsure of where I truly belonged. But over time, the relationships I’ve built here, have made me feel seen and supported in ways I never imagined. The experiences I’ve had have challenged me, pushed me to grow, and helped me discover parts of myself I didn’t know existed. I’ve not only learned new skills but also found a deeper sense of purpose and a passion for service and giving back. It’s truly shaped who I am today, and I’m forever grateful for the ways it’s helped me grow.
